Things to do in February

In the dead of winter, with temperatures in the teens, it is a good time to get some chores done such as cutting back pampas grass before it starts to shatter.  Did you throw the digging shovel in the back corner of the shop when you went in search of the snow shovel in December?  It’s time to organize the tools, make repairs, sharpen the blades.  On a warmer day in February, apply Wilt Proof to tender broadleaf evergreens. This is also a good time to start prepping beds.  Amend the soil with compost or pine bark mulch and stop the summer weeds now with preemergent.  Are you ready to start mulching?  Remember, donut not volcano!
